The Conestoga has been named the 2026 Pennsylvania River of the Year, and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than by stewarding this community treasure as a part of the 10th Anniversary of Water Week! All cleanup groups will launch following the rally.Schedule:9:00 - 9:45 Rally for the River at Lancaster County Central Park Pavilion 19:45 - 10:00 Travel to Conestoga Cleanup sites10:00 - 12:00 Clean up the Conestoga!Our Clean-Up Site:What to Expect: Our cleanup site will be Sunnyside Peninsula, the future home of Lancaster City's first nature preserve and a new environmental center. There are no restrooms available on site. We will provide gloves and trashbags. The site includes uneven terrain. This clean-up site is ideal for children 10+. Where to Meet: After leaving County Park, please meet in the parking area for the Conestoga Greenway Trail: https://maps.app.goo.gl/EDTVFbpNbEzezyNB6. The address is 407 S. Broad Street, Lancaster, PA 17602.What to Bring: Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes or boots. Bring water.Animal Policy: Service animals active or in training are welcome. Please leave all pets at home.Cancellation Policy: This event will be held rain or shine. In the case of severe weather, the event will be canceled and attendees will be notified via email.
